Q: Why do businesses choose to advertise in Coffee News®?
A: Business owners who want to expand their reach, stay top-of-mind, and grab their clients’ attention are those who successfully advertise in Coffee News®. They want to get the word out about their businesses, stand out from their competition, and explain their services and products in a way that grabs their target audiences’ attention. Coffee News® is a perfect solution for them, and here’s why:
- Saturation: Coffee News® is everywhere! And by everywhere, we mean it’s carried in over 400 Bucks County locations, being read by an average of 30,000 readers weekly.
- Exclusive: Only one advertiser in each industry can advertise in each edition.
- Less is more: Your key message is created to set your business apart and compels your ideal clients to call.
Q: What makes Coffee News different from other print advertising?
A: Coffee News® engages its readers and its weekly, one-page format can be totally consumed in a sitting. Our readers make the choice to pick up a copy; therefore, we know they are actually reading it.
Your ad is on the front or back but never lost in the middle. Every ad is seen every time! Our family-friendly, positive content encourages readers to associate those good feelings with our advertisers. And to boot, your ad is in a paper that is beloved and read by thousands each and every week, three meals a day!
Q: What is your readership and who reads it?
A: Bucks County Coffee News® is read by about 120,000 readers monthly. Our readership stats are:
- Women: 62% and Men: 38%
- Age 50+: 47% | Ages 36-49: 31% | Ages 18-35: 22%
Q: Where can I get an issue of Coffee News®?
A: Coffee News® is a free publication that is strategically located wherever people are eating, grabbing a cup of coffee, or waiting for service. Look for us at [link to] locations throughout Lower Bucks.
Q: How often do you publish?
A: New issues are published each and every week, fifty-two weeks a year.
Q: How long have you been publishing?
A: Coffee News®, originally created by Jean Daum in Winnipeg, Canada in 1988, has been publishing in Bucks County since 2008. Jen Kline Clark took over the business in 2012.
Q: Do I need to design the ad?
A: For most of our clients, we create the ads. We pride ourselves on helping to create an ad that shines a light on how a business uniquely serves its customers. We work with you to create the ad concept, you provide the logo and any graphics, and then my graphic designer creates two different proofs for you to consider. We then work with you to tweak it until you love it. We never run an ad without your approval.
Q: Can I change an ad now and then?
A: Yes! What’s great about our ad creation is that you pay a one-time ad creation fee and then have the ability to change the ad throughout the year to highlight different products, services, or freshen it up with the seasons. If you decide you want to change your ad just let me know by phone or e-mail. Please be aware it can take about two weeks to get an ad change in the paper.
Q: I know which package I want. How do we get started?
A: We finalize the agreement, handle payment, and then we get to work on your ad creation. It usually takes a week from the point of ad creation to have a finalized ad published. We run two weeks ahead, so the entire process typically takes three weeks from contract-to-being seen.
Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes. Credit cards and bank transfers are the primary ways most advertisers pay.
Q: What results can I expect?
A: Gary Scardino is a chiropractor who has advertised with Coffee News® since 2010. He’ll tell you that he saw a return on his annual investment with just one new customer. The key to factor when weighing your return on the investment is to consider how long a customer will stay with you once they find you.
Q: Can I use my business card as an ad?
A: Yes, but it’s not recommended. Business cards are great for your contact information after someone already knows you. We spend time to think about your marketing tagline and what will attract your ideal clients via ad elements to differentiate your business from others who provide similar services.
Q: Can restaurants advertise in Coffee News?
A: No. As a courtesy to all our restaurant and coffee shop clients in the area, we offer the protection that no business in the restaurant industry will be allowed to advertise in Coffee News®. Although most restaurants would love to have an ad, they are disallowed automatically. The reason — a Burger King ad in Coffee News®, for example, would have every McDonald’s refusing to carry Coffee News. We do offer restaurants carrying Coffee News a free location listing on our website showing our readers where they can pick up a free copy of Coffee News®. And we list the name of the establishment where the contest winner picked up the issue of Coffee News®.
Q: What is the weekly contest all about?
A: Each week, we hide our Coffee News® Guy in one of the ads. To enter the contest, the reader fills out our online form or mails the required information to our office. The contest is one of the many ways we know the paper is effectively promoting the advertisers because many readers scour the ads looking for the Coffee News® Guy to enter the contest. Plus, more search and do not enter!
Q: Can I contact some of your former clients to see what it’s like to work with you?
A: Yes, you’re encouraged to do so! Visit our Testimonials page and read them. See which ones you feel drawn to, either because the person has gotten the results you want to get too, or perhaps because that person is in a similar profession. Then feel free to email or call them and ask what they got from working with the Coffee News® team.
